Ag Equipment Service Mechanic
The Agriculture Equipment Service Mechanic is expected to perform with the highest degree of professional competence, as it relates to quality and quantity of work, product knowledge, and superior customer service at all times.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and recommend diagnosis, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical repairs and adjustments.
- Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of standard hours to confirm to warranty standards and customer expectations.
- Set and achieves targeted productivity levels on repairs and making adjustments to doing it right the first time.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with management and customers on their repairs.
- Ability to work in a team environment and accurately accomplishes work assignment under minimal supervision
- Provide assistance and guidance to other technicians as appropriate
- Builds and maintains positive customer relationships to strengthen customer loyalty and dealer reputation.
- Complete service repairs and necessary documentation as required within the time allotted
- Create a work environment that is considerate of the customer’s needs and friendly towards coworkers while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Maintains a targeted and professional cleanliness level of shop, tools and assigned vehicles
- Continually improves product knowledge and other skills in order to respond to customer’s needs more effectively
- Work safely and efficiently with zero injuries and 100%
Education and/or skill set:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Five to ten years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications.
- Must be able to communicate thoughts and ideas in both verbal and written form.
- Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn to effectively use company software – with training.
- Positive customer service.
- Mechanical knowledge including transmissions, engines, electrical and hydraulics.
- Willingness to attend training courses.
